Excellent advice from a USA male .., you have captured the spirit of the Russian woman., she is very independent, yet incredibly loving, supportive and understanding, despite my usual male faults. I was very lucky to find her.., pure luck.., been to Moscow 3 times to visit her, as well as other trips, and her coming here for 10 days. USA guys, you must check these women out, they are very different from USA women, they are not after a rich USA guy, that is a total myth, just normal love and family. The whole "Russian Bride" thing is a total insult to them, they are way too smart for that. Just be kind and honest, and you will find a woman that blows away anything in USA.., trust me.., been there, done that. God bless you for the desire you saw to do this and the service you do for many people. Since then we have been writing letters every few days, learning as much as we can about each other. There is so very much I still need to learn, but again, thanks for your help in understanding many aspects of life in Russia and why a lady would seek a mate elsewhere. Great site! I thought I would share my experience with Russian or in this case Ukrainian ladies. I have now been to Odessa ten or more times. I really like it there; it is a wonderful place. My friend is now married to a lady from Odessa and has a son on the way. I have now found myself in the situation that I feel comfortable in Ukraine. I like the people, male and female, young and old.
My last day with Natalia as my lady I said goodbye to her mother and her four year old daughter Maria. They both cried and I am very sad that I will probably never spend time with them again. At the airport I said goodbye to Natalia and although she was sweet and caring in the farewells I knew some thing had gone from the relationship. I later found out that although she wanted me to return she was looking at other options. So I ended the relationship. I am 43 and she is 28 and this in itself was not a problem. Even with her previous men who were Russian, they were older than her. Natalia's long term relationship was to a Russian man who was wealthy. He had decided he did not want her anymore and Natalia and Maria had to leave their home and rely on family to live. When we first met she said that all she wanted was her own home with her own comfortable bed and wardrobe. She meant this; I am a good judge of character. Over the months she spent with me her confidence came back and I believe she decided to look for the life she once had. My financial situation is strong and getting stronger but at this moment in time I would not be considered wealthy. So the relationship ended by me because I felt the love had gone and the honesty was not there. So I suppose the question is what is my point. It's this, what a wonderful experience, what an amazing adventure, what a charming and beautiful lady she is. I have no regrets and I will visit Odessa again for the New Year because I always enjoy my time there. So my advice is go. The reason you are looking away from your home town is because you are hoping for something more than it is offering. So make that step, write to a lady or many ladies, go to her city and have an adventure. Expect nothing, hope for everything and enjoy it all.
My search continues, my life is great and it gets more fascinating by the day. One day you will be old and all you will have in your last few years are memories, make them good ones. As last piece of advice, this isn't gambling for the addicted, spend what you are comfortable with and expect no return for that expense other than reward of what's happening now, what happens tomorrow is up to you and the lady you meet. This is life; no guarantees. Sorry, I didn't know whether you wanted to read all that but I think what you advised is so true; I felt the urge to write my experience down. I did limit it; I could have gone on for thousands of words. The mix of people anywhere are basically the same; it is their environment that creates the cultural differences and therefore the self image and what factors of that image we feel are important.
