Hmm, it would have been good to see this site 2 years ago - I got lucky,plain and
simple! I was 37 at the time, single, and trying Match.com, where I was
contacted by a "Marina Rostova" using the email address "marina007@pisem.net." Unfortunately I do not have any of the original
emails left, but I can say that many of the ones associated with this photo were identical
to the ones I received, including the initial contact letter.
I did notice (after the fact) that she never answered any of my direct
questions and certainly avoided any notion of me flying there. We corresponded for a couple
of months, and she said she needed 300 for the visa and 1400 for the plane ticket
to come visit me, after which I finally gave in and wired $400 to the Guta Bank,
unk street address (I don't remember at this point), October Prospectus,
Kemerovo. After sending her the pin#, I got the "see ya" letter, but the money
never got picked up. I was able to recover it, minus the wire transfer fee, and
also got the money back from some flowers I tried to send through "flower and gift
nternational," who told me that her address in Kemerovo (which I no longer have
as well) was bogus. As I say, I got lucky. I wish I had seen this site then, and I
guess I need to learn to not be so trusting. Because this was 2 years ago, I
have one of the letters and only the one photo left, but I can say that
the photos with others using this image of the Ukrainian singer were many of the same ones I
received, and so were the letters. Well, that is my story. Now that I'm trying the
