Never saw it coming. Emailed me through gay.com. He spends six weeks falling in love and pays attention to every detail. I asked him to marry me and he said yes. So he decided to come to America. But the best way to do that would be to employ 'the Agency' a group of attorneys that make getting a visa easier by telling you all of the questions that they will ask. So he claims that he spent $365 for that. He is from Chelyabinsk, Russia and travels to Moscow. Says he has to live there for 4 weeks, and that he can do it on $400. He says that is so he can attend the classes that the Agency puts on and get all of the paperwork in order. It all has to be done in Moscow. So he has the illusion that he is puting out and his family too, more money. Then, surprise the Agency tells him that he must have plane tickets to his destination in the U.S. before he goes to his interview at the Embassy. So I sent him $1500. After all I beleived that he was getting his visa and I was really in love with him. Well now he had me hooked. Supposedly when he did well at the Embassy interview they told him that he had to have at least $3000 on him to prove financial responsibility to the US government that he wasn't going to be a criminal. So I grudingly sent him that. But all of these money transfers were sent to
Tatiana Prokopjeva Western Union. I have reported them to Western Union, but since russians work there, I doubt if anything will happen. The Russian police don't see anything wrong with the scam that is going on. Anyway, supposedly Western Union calls Tatiana and advises her that there is a 20% tax on the money that she got and she tells Valentin that if he doesnt' get the money, she will veto his visa. So I sent $1200. Then he goes for a medical exam and the passes the eye test which he was supposed to fail. You see when you are 18 you are supposed to serve in the army for 2 years and his Mom paid the hospital to change their records to show that he was blind in his left eye. So he couldn't go into the army. But he claims he was so excited that he called all of the letters out correctly with his left eye and forgot that he was supposed lie about it. Yeah right! Well the Russian doctors picked up on this right away and figured out that he didn't serve in the army illegally and if he didn't come up with $5000 in 10 days they were turning him over to prison. That excuse made me look deeper and contact the US Embassy in Moscow. And right there on the website it says not to purchase your plane tickets before you get your visa. And I emailed them and told them the requirements that he told me that they had said, they were all completely false. They even said that it sounded like a common Russian scam and that they have no way to prosecute because they can't get the Russian police to believe that it is wrong. So I am out $5700, and I can't get him out of my head. I fell for him big time. He even wrote back saying that he will kill himself rather than go to prison, and how can I be so attached to my money when he thought I loved him. I told him point blank what the Embassy said and he countered with that isn't what they told me, they are cruel, they are telling you lies. He was cutie and my first love, it will be hard to get over him.

traveling so don't worry if I don't write you every day like I used to be. I am
very tired here and Internet cafe costs very expensive but I have to be economy
to live here until I get visa.

here, not without reason people tell that Moscow is one of the expensive cities
in the world. Well, let's return to business. All the documents were taken but
they told me I should have round ticket to you for getting visa. I should have
ticket before Interview in Embassy. It is guarantee for Government I don't have
purpose to stay in America after arriving. Not all people leave America after
ending visa's time. But we still have way to stay me there with you for more
time, it will be much more easily to make from America with papers I will bring

On-line transfers doesn't work good here in Russia so you should go to the
Western Union office in person. I am sorry for this difficulties but I really
tried all my best to find out before giving you information. I think this is
fate that I found out about this because if you make transfer in my name I could
have problems later.
As for bank.In Western Union will ask for some 10- digit MTCN number you should
have as soon as transfer are made (in bank told me this is necessary) and your
full home postal address and full name. They will give money in US dollars but I
can easy to covert them into Russian rubles - there are many points of currency
exchange here so don't worry about that. I was at bank that has Western Union

Hello, Tom, I am writing you some news. I was in Agency today and I talked at
teacher what can they ask me tomorrow before I finally get visa.. While I was
talking Tatiana come and when she saw me asked to follow to her cabinet for
talk. Today morning she got call from Western Union office and they told about
tax she is going to pay until end of this year and this is tax for money she
have received. She will not have problem with government since she is director
of Government Agency but paying tax is necessary because this is government fee
for everyone. If I receive money from you I would have to pay this tax too and
in Embassy would check out if I have any debt here so I would not get visa this
way until I pay tax. As for me - I don't have problem but Tatiana have debt to
pay 949,81 US dollars - this is just tax from money you sent - 19% if amount

pay these money to her because she helped and don't want to pay this from her

I met this woman like a lot of men did on Match.com. We started corresponding via our personal e-mail addresses at her request. We exchanged close to 30 e-mails from the period of Sept11 up until Oct 31 of 2006. She never brought up the issue of money until after the 20th or so e-mail that we exchanged. She told me that she had secured a visa and needed help with the ticket. She had paid for most but it was going to be more than she expected. She requested that I send her $987US to help her get here. Right then alarms were going off but I thought what the hell I'll tell her I'll send her $400 and she had to come up with the rest. She was a beutiful girl and it was worth it. She accepted and I sent the money through "MoneyGram". From there she sent me an e-mail claiming she needed $1800US to pass through customs "just for presentation" and that she would give it back to me when she arrived. I didn't believe it and I called the US embassy and the Russian consulate to confirm. No such rule exsisted so I refused to send the money to her. Then she called me the following day claiming that it was true and for me to please send her the money. Well this almost got me because I hadn't talked to because, of course, she didn't have a phone in her town. That's when I did some more digging and found this website which made my decision a no brainer. I replied back to her with an article that I found about scammers being arrested in Russia. I haven't heard back from her since. She's good...almost got me to go "all in"... Thank you to this website and whoever started it! Here are a few of her letters. I am a Norwegian man and 35 years old.
I work as a nurse at an elders home.
The story:
I have a profile on "finnenvenn.no" because i am single and want to meet a nice
girl through the agency. Suddenly i was contacted bey an Russian lady that wanted
to write letters to me. She gave me her e-mail adress and i did the same in return.
She was really a beautiful lady. It is now two weeks ago she contactet me and our
correspodence lasted from 12. october till the last letter from her on the 23. october.
In the last letter, she wanted me to send her 437 euro for the cost of the documents
she had to get so she could come to meet me. I wrote back that i cant afford to pay
so much money and that we have to discuss first wich of us is going to travel.
I didnt get responce from my last letter and i think its because i wrote that i dont
have the money. I got more and more suspicious to her, because she really didnt answer
my questions in her letters, she only wrote that she loves me and wanted to embrace me.
For me it became to good to be true. When i told about my family and my work, she didnt
get me feedback of my writings. She continued to write that i was her knight and that
she loved me. After i found out that she is a scammer i sent letter to the police in my
country and to the moneytransfer agencies to tell them about this criminal person.
I have also told finnenvenn.no about the scammer, but she has deleted her profile on
that site. I have also sent letters to several similar pages as this, russiantearom for
example. And they have all blacklisted her and confirmed to me that she is a scammer.
Off course, i never sent money to her because it could see that this must be a scam attempt.
I want to get her blacklisted because i dont want this person to fool other people.
