My town is Achair about some thousand people here. It's old town. We have some very old Churches with very olds Icons here. I was born here
but leaved this place one time when I was studing in the Omsk
Univercity. Achair is a very small town and only a couple of people here have their own phones with internationl connecion. But several
moth ago we have Internet club here and its no much popular cause of cost much. Now it get cheaper first sevice it is email. The only way
for me to write you is to get here and pay for time at computer to write you. But if send only letter cost no much, use internet like
meet people cost much. I know that in America almost in each home has Internet. In my country it will be too.
My friends say I'm very cheerful, attractive and devoted woman, and I will not leave my friend in trouble. I like to cook very much and I am
cooking always only by myself. When I was a young girl my aunt has
learned me good cook I have good practicks when was student and have been far from home. I like to cook many meanl's from meat, chicken, I
like salads, fish. I like eat too, no only cooking. I like soups and potatos and red fish with fried onions. But it better no eat to much
cause of care about body wight. I like fruits grapes, persimmon, peach,
appricot, here we have no many fruits but my aunt have garden
and there is appels tree. I like drink coffee and clear carbonate water.
Alchocol? Red wine, no dry and a bit lite bear with cheaps. But I don't drink a lots, only sometimes at holidays. I do not smoke also.
My father works likes a pediatrist in our hospital. He has cured many children in our town. He is 67 yes old but still work. He very known

cities. They are not very far. He like forest, soccer and me. I have no any brothers and sisters.
I have no mother. Its not easy for me to say about it. She died in a road accident when I was 2 years old. My father love her very much and

I want to tell you about my work. Now I am working as manager at biggest trading company at our city. This is firm that sells Lady's
wear. My duties are to show clothes to clients, to tell them all about
it, to take orders. Usually we sell many parts of clothes in a week. I
do not know precisely as much. Usually it is various dress, blouses, skirts and suits. I love classical style in the lady's wear. All
clothes very convenient and beautiful. My heads very proud for me, they always say that I am best. They are very good and strong people
and I like them a lot. My work is not very far from me, and I always go there by myself. And how long from your home your work is situated?

Of course you wonder how I got decide to write someone so far? I was similar with one woman from my town. She has worked as teacher of
English in school of our town she often went in the city Perm for

stay long time and after they maybe decide get married. I dont know how it work cause of I have no meet her over one year, then we had no
intenert in my town I have no her email adress. It looked like a fairy
tale. I like my country and my life here is no bad.
Do you like your place of living? your country? Yes you have better life there. My friend has said that American men are better then
Russian cause does not drink so much. They more oriented at creation
and care of family.They like to have job, and for for family. Problem of my country cause of many people no want to work. Everyone women
want to have family and care about her home, kids and husband. Time is

The weather, OK, the last two days it warm and sunshine. I like summer
best of all, but winter is pleasant too. There is alot more to do outside too. I like comen back from cold street in warm home, and
watch TV with hot tea. Most I like skied and it is so beautiful when all looking white. But summer it can swim and to become tanned walk in
forest, work in garden. I like camping in childhood it happend often
now no good company for. I like rain in the Summer.

I becoming attached to your letters and I like it very much. Its seems
it become mean for me more and more! So, how are you today? Today is a best weather here. Small wind with
bit sun and very fresh air cause of yesterday night was rain. What you
know about russia? Here is all growing up, communism was bad idea for Russia, and most of people glad that it over. How long winter do you
have there where you live? Our usual is five month, like in most of Russia we have strong frost each winter is about -40 -50 C.
I like winters but if you life in hause and have your own heating this
good you can life winter good if have fire-wood or solid fuel in villages and gas heat in my town and others. If use electricity power
it cost much money in my country. Most of appartamets of big city that
have district heating it is some time no good work in winter. In my country we never have big earthquake's, hurricane's or other terrible
cataclysm. That my country is no reach - it is right, only Moscow and St. Peterburg is very reach city's other have moderate level of life,
In my country we have no good car manufactures, so never buy Russian
car, my dad have one and spend many time in garage to repair it. I cannot drive, but I would like to get study it, may be some day will
have my own car.
My dear , its a little confuse me, but I would like to share my dream with you. Today night I saw that we sat together at a coast of a
big lake. I have not seen this lake early, but it was so beautiful and

It is so great that you write me today my day is no bad. I got home from work later what a beautiful day but it only was. The sun is
shining all long day but, I watch it only from my window. This time of
year job no doing well, and work no easy with many papers but soon here will be stay computer, like in internet place but without

Today I had good luck to meet my school girlfriend in our shop. She lives in Moscow now and she has arrived to visit her parents. So I was

information , they ask me to take care about this befor, they check my
personals information and Manager of Agency get stay me on queue of registration. Yes, he told me that I have chance to make a visa and to
get it approved. Visa process still no begin cause of need to chose
type of visa and pay for it.
So, here is information about visas that work out, here is only three type, Business visa to no bad but need "busienss" reason for travel.
1). Guest visa: B1\B2. It allows me to come to your country for period
from 1 day till 1 year, after expiration of date I must get back in Russia. It cost 150 US dollars for Visa Agency service and plus 110
dollars for Consular gathering (for American Embassy). To get this visa will take 2 - 3 weeks.
2). Tourist visa, status B1\B2. Allow to stay in America no more 3 month. It cost 110 dollars to Consular gathering (Embassy) 100 dollars
for Agency service and must have the medical insurance it as. Guest
visa no immigration visa, to get this visa will take maximum three week too.
3). Visa of the Bride, K1 visa. This visa is immigration, I can stay in America forever, but it is cost much money to get such visa I need
think about cost ticket too.
I'm able all tipe of visa by my self except visa of the bride. , how do you think, which visa is better for us? Tomorrow I have
also most importan day for I will try to get news about a cost of the ticket. Cross fingers on luck, I hope I have enough money.

I am so happy to get your letter and I am so happy that we becoming closer to each other. All night I thinking about you and about us, I

Polina Dubrovina contacted me through the Yahoo Personals. This was a major red flag. She said that her sister, Irina, married an Italian named Luigi and concluded that she would like to be as happy as Irina. In her second letter, she told me that she was an only child and HER FRIEND Irina married a Spanish man named Luigi. The body of her emails were templates and she mostly avoided direct questions. She sent a picture with every email and after two letters fell in love with me. She followed the scammer's guide in detail; parents wished me well, friends wished me well, the names of her photos were me.1, me.2, named after countries and she said she has never been out of Russia, etc. I started to write some silly things in the body of my emails. She never asked me about these things. I told her I started having sexy dreams about her; she wanted to make wild passionate love with me but we couldn't because football was on TV. I told her that I wanted my wife to be a mime and how she felt about that; pretty stupid stuff. Finally, I professed my love and said I couldn't live without her. As soon as I did that, she asked for money to apply for her visa (about $550 total). She told me since the banking and mailing system was so crooked in Russia that I should send it to her Western Union. I told her that since I love her so much I'll send her $1,000 (I never sent it). She ran around for two days looking for her money. She finally sent me an email telling me she did not think it was nice making fun of people and giving them lies. I told her that I felt the most vile, wicked, and evil people in the world were people like her. They were people who played with emotions to weaken other people then rob them blind after getting them into position. I have reported her to as many scamming sites as I could find since she is not with an agency.

etc. You know the level of crimes is extremely high in Russia. The
majority of our country like to watch these programs. But I hate to do
it. I prefer to watch some musical and entertaining shows, and as a

to you. Now you think that I spend my time in front of the TV screen

But it's not true. Actually I watch TV very seldom, once in a blue
moon. I have no time and forces to do it. My health is the most
important thing for me. I do not boast. My health is really good, and
I always try to be in a good form. I jag every morning, try to spend
as much times as possible in the open air. I have no car and I take a
bus or whatever (I mean transport) very seldom. I take cold - not
shower. I have been living in the conditions of rather cold winters
and damp autumn since my childhood. Such king of climate helps to

prefer a healthy way of life and I'm proud of it. Sewing and knitting

Now I'm writing to your letter and I'm happy. It's very pleasant that

one. The flight, is on the 27 of May 2006. The ticket costs $2300 USD.
I asked the to reserve the ticket for me. But they refused to do it
having said that they had a lot of clients. They cannot reserve my
ticket without adwanced money. I was imploring them. But it did not
work. They said that they would help me with great pleasure but they
couldn't. The rules are so. I was in a panic, I was so disappointed.
Then I asked themif I could give just a part of the money. But they
did not agree again. I asked them for a long time saying that my
fiance Emilio is waiting for me. If I asked them a little bit longer I
would burst out of crying. Maybe God heard my prayers, and the service

When I asked her why such a beautiful young lady is interested in me, she said that Russian men are alcoholics and that they do not respect women. We exchanged emails every day up until 22 May 2006. On 24 April 2006 Sofiya asked me for money to purchase an air ticket, visa, passport, insurance etc with a total amount of $1,845 USD which I paid via Western Union on 8 May 2006 (MTCN:3493864787 - actually $1,890 USD to be exact). See letter 2.
Sofiya then gave me details of her itinerary on 11 May 2006 (see letter 3).
Then on 22 May 2006 whilst she was supposedly in Moscow collecting her visa from the Australian Embassy, I received an urgent email request (from an internet cafe apparently) for $2,300 AUD to prove to the Embassy, her financial capacity to stay in Australia during the one month period. She even telephoned me two times and we talked on the second call and she sounded very distressed begging me to pay that amount via Western Union. I checked the immigration policy in Australia and we actually do have a requirement to pay security bond when application for visa is lodged in certain countries including Russia. I therefore totally believed her and paid $2,350 AUD through Western Union (MTCN:1188899083) on 23 May 2006 (see letter 4).
I have not heard from Sofiya since I sent a confirmation to her that money has been transferred on 23 May 2006. I was so naive and silly that I waited for Sofiya for 3 hours at the airport with a bunch of flowers. Singapore Airlines later confirmed that Sofiya's original booking was cancelled by a Russian agent and that she did not re-book her flights.
The damage for all this was $3,625 USD (close to $5,000 AUD) and a broken heart. Oh and not to mention the one month annual leave that I forcefully obtained from my work and beachfront accommodation and restaurants that I had to cancel. I am considering taking action to recover the money so if anybody has any advice or tips for me I would be grateful.
