A young woman (21yrs old) claiming to be
Elena Votrina from Ekaterinburg contacted me many months ago via Yahoo.
I suspected it was a scam, but I played along for the fun of it. She professed her love for me and her desire to
marry me rather quickly (uh huh .. suuuuure), and sent many photos (some of
which are already posted on your site).
The clincher came several weeks after her initial contact. She told me her mother
had invested several hundred dollars in a Russian telephone company that had
gone out of business, and that if she did get several hundres dollars soon, both
she and her mother would be forced into the street. She asked med to send
several hundred dollars to her via Western Union (I cannot recall the exact dollar
amount requested). I called Western Union and asked if they knew about this
'Elena Votrina' in Ekaterinburg, and they told me they had several pages of men
from all over the world sending money to this same person for several months.
Case closed. So word of advice for everyone who is actually considering a foreign
bride: if they ask for money, they are scams. To prove it, call Western Union
(from what I have read, this is the preferred mode of money transfer) and check
on the name used.

not i do this just for fun. She wrote 10 letters before the money letter came and
then I copied the information from your site and emailed it to her, at that time she
was no longer interested in any further comminication.

are as bored as me have some fun and see how long the game can be played

a Ukrainian woman would be the right thing to do. Well....
I want to warn everyone about a woman named
Marina Goldovanskaya (marina_ukr2001@yahoo.com) and the translation service known as Questway
by Ludmilla Bondar (questway@softhome.net) out of Lugansk, Ukraine. Marina
Goldonovskya is listed with Absolute Agency as A1357376 on Oct 13. Earlier
as A836540. I have attached a couple a dynamite photos as well. Its a scam in
which they only want money.
Over a four month period I sent $300 for translation
and communication services to Marina via Western Union (July thru October 2001). Western Union notified me
immediately that Marina's account had received complaints in the past and that
she was receiving money from other foreign men. Thank you very much Western
Union. Well, I kept going thinking there may be a reasonable explanation. I never
confronted Marina about this. I did not want to start an email argument at my
financial expense. As for the full story I will make it short and I won't publish a
lot of back and forth letters....
The first few letters were "boiler plate". There was
little or no personal interaction and they could of been written to anyone. Also I received a letter from
Marina by mistake. It was addressed to a German man. The letter was similar to the one I
received except one or two sentences were changed. Go figure, I still
kept on and did not mention this letter. By the fourth letter Marina was asking for $450 for 3
months of English lessons... "Yes, this course of English study is very expensive
for me. It costs 450$ (with three months duration). But they give the permission
to divide the payment of this amount in two times." I politely refused. Four
Hundred and fifty dollars is a lot of money for the yearly income of most
Ukrainians. I have been to Ukraine and there is a Ukrainian price and there is a
Foreign price on things (thats just how it is...). I met a dentist who made $15 a
month and department head for a university that made $30 a month. Prices for
Ukrainians are in accordance with their incomes. These people had no reason to
lie to me and both talked to me separately. I met very "poor" students that
graduated from high school, but were taking university courses in computers.
They were not paying $450 for 3 months. Four Hundred and fifty dollars is an
American price for a semester at an American community college. Maybe I am
just a skeptic, but its a lot of money for someone you have not even met....
Anyway, Marina kept asking for money in subsequent
letters... She gave me a phone number and I called 8 times. She was never at home. I talked to an
older woman claiming to be her mother. A younger woman claiming to be a sister.
Marina was always "just left, out visiting, etc...". On my last call Marina had
moved out to another apartment and had a new phone number. In all of our letters
she never mentioned this major change in her life. I asked for her new address
and number (never got an acknowledgement), I mentioned that her sister and
mother were pleasant to talk to (never got an acknowledgement), also asked for a
good time to call her (never got an acknowldegement).
One day Marina sent me an email saying she had to go
from Lugansk to Kharkov for 5 days to pick up her diploma. No warning just an e-mail that she
would not answer my letters for a while. Well 5 days turned into 10 days. I only got a
responce because I noticed a new advertisement by Marina on Absolute Agency
A1357376. I sent a letter through this new advertisement and she finally
responded to me. Well she claimed that she did a new add because I did
not respond to her for 5 days at one point and she got worried. My excuse that I did
not want to reveal to her was that Western Union would only make monetary
transfers to Marina after getting personal verification (not computer verification)
from me. Hooking up with Western Union was difficult that week.
I once tried to have a Ukrainian friend in
Kherson, Ukraine contact Marina. Marina was outraged at this attempt. She wrote that she did not want to talk to a
man from Kherson, did not see the necessity, etc.
The final episode.... Undaunted, I made arrangments
to visit Marina in the Ukraine. We settled on Kiev and again she needed travel money, she wanted to
bring her translator, she wanted separate accomodations, she wanted money to
buy an outfit for our meeting and.... oops.... someone broke into her apartment
and stole her winter coat and her two best pairs of shoes, now whats a girl to do!
Of course, the American can send money to buy her clothes and shoes pay for
the translator and everything. Of course she accused me of not being serious
about marriage and loving her in this same letter. If I did love her I would send the
money, cause she really needed it now. And then of course I was unfaithful for
not writing 5 days in a past episode. So,... how did she finance her trip
to Kharkov from Lugansk without my help?
I put all of this off and said that I would go
directly to Lugansk and I would take her shopping. I finally breached the truth about Western Union,
but I was not accusing, I merely explain this was one of the difficulties I was continuing to
encounter, but that I was sincere in continuing and enhancing our relationship.
Furthermore I had airline tickets in hand. Marina's response was outrage. How
could I lie about Western Union. I was not sincere or I would be taking care of her
monitarily. Guys, I tell you, I never got to meet this woman and seriously doubt I
was writing to a credible person. I suspect there were "persons" on the receiving
end. As I reflect, it was all a scam for money.
Since this time I wrote to many of the Absolute Agency
women. There are a lot of "boiler plate" letters out there and most of them come from Lugansk. Also I must
state that just about all want correspondence money and eventually English
lessons and the like. The services are not "registered" there is no way of
verifying that they are legitimate. In Odessa I visited an Internet cafe full of highschool
kids. The computers were full of game playing addicts. The cost was 5 hrivna for
one hour or $1. A lady in Kherson wanted money for correspondence, and she
gave me her phone number. I called and we talked. I told her it was easy for me
to go to Odessa if she wanted to meet me. She said she needed $60 to go from
Kherson to Odessa. Well Gentlemen, I have been to Kherson and Odessa. A bus
trip is 4 hours and it cost $3 (15 hrivna). A shared cab takes 4 hours and cost $4
(20 hrivna). If you want a private Mercedes Benze to take you one way, its $60
and it still takes 4 hours. I told her my price experience and immediately she
stated that there were problems with travel by bus and etc. Gentlemen there are
no problems. I offered to reimburse her for her traveling once we met. She
bailed. Its okay for me to send money blindly, but for her to trust that I will travel to meet
her...? Arrangements and assurances could of be a made....
If you want to send money to someone without ever
seeing them or without ever getting a sense of true commitment, go right ahead. My advice is to deny any
payment until you feel there is honest dialogue with honest intentions. If one is
always giving in a ralationship, both will be dissatisfied with the relationship. Your
choice, your money, your time, your heart.

This one is easy. Same photo, different names, mixed
up cities, mixed up measurements, mixed up age, asking for money after the second letter. Two
absolute agency identities... A1525250 and I responded to the advertisement for
Lena K in Kyiv. Her letter says she is in Lugansk. I previously told "her" that I
would be in Kyiv and we could meet the following week. The next letter I received
was requesting payment. I received one photo in the first letter.

I got an email from olga001@pochtamt. The story I got was identical to
Robert's on your site. Dad dying in the Afghan war, living with Aunt, believing in God etc.
The attached pictures were sent to me of Anastasia Smirnova. She said that she
was a teacher making $60 a month and that it cost$350 for a Visa, but did not
ask for the money. I was also sent a voice recording of her via email. It was real
slick and very slow in developing...the major problem was not responding directly
to my letters. I lost no money and am real glad I looked at your site. Attached are
two of the many pictures sent. Marriage was not mentioned until the end.
Hopefully we can stop this person from harassing others. She did eventually
answer my questions in the last letter, but by that time I had seen your site.

My name is Rick. I live in Kentucky. I am a 46 year old divorced man. On
October 11, 2001 I received a letter from Olga basically asking for me to
communicate in e-mail with her and tell her about me. The communication
continued very general for several days with one e-mail coming daily and on
the fifth day she talked about how she had developed feelings for me. On
October 25, 2001 the letter stated that she needed money for her visa and
passport the mount needed was 280.00 total and it was to be sent via Western Union. The Western
Union address that she needed it sent to was ALFA BANK, LENINA ST. 121,
KRASNOYARSK 660021.
Communications continued daily for about two weeks then the communications
started dropping to two to three times per week. There was a six day gap in the
communication with Olga and on the seventh day an e-mail arrived stating that
her grandmother had died and she had traveled to Krasnoyarsk to be with her
family. On November 12, 2001 a somewhat urgent e-mail arrived stating that she
needed $880.00 for her plain ticket and that she needed it that night to be sent to
the same Western Union pick up site as before because she had gotten a good
price on a plane ticket and had to buy it immediately. A letter came two
days later thanking me for the money and that is the last I have heard from
her. I have checked the web site out and found several other names with letters
that are either identical or very similar to the letters that I have received from Olga. One of
the allias names has the same exact address and birth day as Olga. Her name is
Larisa Korkina. The other names that I feel are associated with this same person
are as follows: Oksana Pirogova from Magadan, Russia; Tatyana Moskvina from
Orenburg, Russia; and Marina Mihilova from Murmangk, Russia. The e-mail
address recently used by this person are as follows: First letter - first e-mail
address was Lubov_1974@pochtamt.ru
Second letter - second e-mail address was Lubov_2001@rbcmail.ru
after several letters she changed her e-mail address again and this is what
she is still using. olgalub2001@fromru.com

Greetings! I happened across your website---shall I say a little too late---$1800
too late. My suspicions were right when I came to your website---looked for a
woman named Tatyana--I came across someone named Tatyana Yurina--I saw
the photos and it was indeed the same person who nailed me for almost $2000.
Here is "My Story:" In late September I received an e-mail from a woman named
TATYANA TSAREGORODSEVA it was thru the Kiss.com website. We corresponded and exchanged pictures and I was nuts enough to believe what she
was telling me about her life and how she wanted to come to the United States
and be with me. She asked for $300 to help with a visa.....I did do that, then I had
arranged for airfare--buying the ticket here. Oh no---it had to be bought there...so
another $900, then finally $530 for some "insurance" or she wouldn't be allowed
out of the country. I was idiotic enough to wire the money via Western Union to
her. 3 days after I sent over the last money----she was supposedly in Moscow
geting everything all finished to come to the U.S. to be with me. I received an
e-mail telling me such a "sad story" how she had been in the Moscow subway
and she was jostled around and when she left the subway she discovered her
purse was open and all the money was gone. She apologized and went on and
on how sorry she was and what I must think of her. If she only knew what I am
thinking NOW. After receiving that e-mail I contacted Western Union to find out
where the money had been picked up---all the same location, and it turns about
in the last 45 days alone----a large number of wire transfers to TATYANA
TSAREGORODSEVA had been made from men here in the United States. I was
not alone. Western Union---wouldn't not or could not do anything to help---they
would not even have her listed as a potential scammer. I happened to do an
intenet search of "scams + Russian women" and your site came up-----had I only
been smart enough to check this out first. I am attaching the letters she sent,
along with the photos that she sent---perhaps it will keep other men from being as

is not present money, my notebook, all documents, temporary sanction to be in
Moscow, … glory god at me passport have not stolen, I sat on bench and could

I am generally a pretty savy person----I work in media and I cannot believe that
this has happened to me. It didn't break me financially, but just the fact someone
would be so dishonest and then the fact I would be so gullible......unbelievable.
There has got to be some way to alert authorities here in the U.S., and in Russia
as to what this woman is doing.
