Hi, my name is Kev, a single father from the United Kingdom. I was 'winked' at on Match.com from a woman calling herself Irina. So I thought "what the hell, I'll email her back". So I did and a week later she replied back. In her email to me through Match she said that she was unable to correspond through Match and asked me to email her through her private email girl_dream_ira@yahoo.com , so me being naive to the whole Russian Women Scamming I did. From there we corresponded for a month, virtually every day. But thanks to your site and other I've researched on, I discovered 'Irina' is a scammer. After reading someone else's experiences I decided to log the IP addresses 'she' was emailing from. At first the IP address varied per email, but all came from an ISP in Kazan. But from Sunday 14th January to now, the emails have come from the same PC at the same location, which is using a network, and not dial-up.

She gave me the name Irina Stepanova from Naberezhnye Chelny aged 28. Other names of 'women' that I have found on the Internet using identical emails are as follow, for all I know there may be more:

Although I've been lucky and I didn't send any money, I feel angry that I got drawn into this so easily. I'm writing this to try and prevent other innocent, possibly a little gullible, guys from being scammed and sending money to these hoaxers. So you guy's reading this, my advise to you is be cautious, do your research by using the power of the internet and most of all DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY. If she's genuinely interested, she'll be happy 
for you to visit her.

Below are some of the more recent email that I have received from 'Irina'. I've added the IP address used to send the email. I used 
http://www.ip2location.com/ to find out where the IP address is in the world. This has been a valuable site to use.

Here the update on the Visa enquiry, stating it is difficult due to 
terrorism, which is rubbish. If anything things are being made easier to get the Visa these days according to the British Embassy in Russia. Also from this point onwards, all the emails come from the same PC on a network rather than a PC using a modem to dial the Internet.

"Hi my lovely Kev! I am glad to speak again with you! dear, I have good news to you. Today I have met the agent travel to learn concerning the visa. he has explained me a situation about reception of the visa to you. Your government has made more strict control over entrance to the country because of terrorism and consequently to receive to you the visa uneasy. But the agency will make it for me. The agent has told, that they recently already received some visas of tourists in your country. I am very glad Kev, that we will not have with it big difficulties. I all over again had fears, that the agency cannot it to make or for this purpose very long time will be required. But the agent has told, that the visa will demand from them two or three weeks. Tomorrow I will need to reach in office of agency, to sign there the contract and also we shall decide question on payment of them. Now it is time to me to go lovely to make photos for the visa and to fill in questionnaires for embassy. The agent has told, it should be is prepared tomorrow when I shall come to them to office. I very pleased Kev, that now our preparations have begun and through small time we shall be together! I have the foreign passport as I had travel on earlier to Europe as I wrote to you. Now for the Money talk. 'Preparing' me for needing help with money.

Here 'she' starts to slip up and asks me questions already asked in previous emails. Also now starts the sexual aspect of the correspondence.

What they have opinion on it? My parents and friends are pleased, that I shall meet you. They are glad, that I at last have met the person to whom I have big respect and serious intentions. This is where the scam 100% shows through. In my previous email to this I told 'her' that I wouldn't talk about sex as we haven't met, knowing full well this was a scam. But in this email 'she' thanks me for telling 'her' my sexual desires with 'her'. :-S.

"Hi mine dear Kev! Excuse, that I yesterday was absent for you. I have been very much tired with my work and hardly got home. I lay down in bed a little; to have a rest, but have fallen asleep and woke up only in the morning. Loved, I was very glad to receive your message. Thanks, that you answered on! Sex. Imaginations! My questions. To me was It is pleasant to read your ideas about me, it raised in me! And Has answered on! Some desires. It is pleasant for me to read your words and To learn, that I involve! As we remain together and we carry out together our first night. I think, that we not let's sleep this night. After downloading your book 'How to marry a woman like me' I decided to subscribe to your site and to get started in a better way :-). Just when I was about to write someone who's profile I liked much I was offered a free 3 day subscription to a site in the Netherlands I was a free member of and thought (stupid enough), let's give it one more chance on this site so I wrote a 'girl' in Cheboksary, Natalya Aganina. We wrote a lot of mail to each other, really nice and all and yesterday I received the 2nd mail (which are pasted into the bottom part of this message) asking me for 900US$ to prevent her from being hurt by the maffia, who's car she had an accident with and stole her passport. It took me an hour or so to figure out that I managed to find me a new scammer again as before I read her last 2 messages we were writing about meeting each other for a romantic holiday together making my fantasy go in full speed thinking how nice it was going to be ;-). My initial thought was only to get her to give me her phone number to offer the requested help to her and also to find out how she was doing of course. Until then we didn't call each other yet so I didn't have the number and she informed me she and her family didn't own a phone but would try to call... 

My brain was a little slow but after her second mail which informed me how to transfer money and to who it finaly woke up. In order to pick up money from any bank you do not have an account with you need a passport and she just told me it was stolen but sent her own details anyway. Apart from that it doesn't make sense to me that she does have a car but doesn't have a phone.... 

Gentlemen who read this story, please be advised for this kind of business, trying to play your emotions as a top actor. 

I have to give him or her an Oscar nomination for this performance, unfortunately, again. 

The girl in the picture probably hasn't got anything to do with this so if she will ever read this, please don't feel offended.

She portrayed herself as a semi-poor kindergarten teacher Russian girl who had a bad and painful marriage, and is now divorced and living in an apartment with her parents. She is supposedly seeking a nice American man to save her from her meager life and pay for her to come to the USA to get married and start a family. She has asked for money for a visa and airline ticket.

Also it will be necessary for me to do the passport for travel abroad. It costs 150 $. The passport for travel abroad I shall make out about 3 weeks. In total I was necessary about 430 $. The employee has told that when I shall bring all necessary documents and as I shall pay the necessary sum then all m y documents will be sent to Moscow. There in embassy of England will consider my documents. Approximately in 3 weeks all documents will be ready also I can easy go on a meeting with you. I am very strongly glad to this because my dreams can come true and we shall lead together a New Year's vacation and I should not give up the work. We can be in London some weeks, how many we shall wish, because the visa will be valid within 6 months. I very strongly was delighted to this, but at the same time and very strongly was upset, because I understand, that I can not meet and visit with you London. It so is a pity and so is insulting, that between us there is a financial question and money become a determinant of ours with you of happiness. I thought, that the visa will cost not more dearly 100 $/Unfortunately at me there are no material means to pay all charges connected with official registration of papers. I do not know where to me to take this money. I here can hope only for your help. You know I live not richly. And unfortunately, I have sent her money twice through Western Union. The first time was on 1/08/07 in Kazan, for $430.00 using transfer #9051973456. The second time was on 1/23/07 in Kazan, using transfer #9050757974 for $330.00. Both transfers were done through e mail. 

She has wriiten me around 42 letters at this time. I am still in touch with her. She does not know that I know of her scam. She is expecting me to still send her more money for an airline ticket.
