Hi - I have ordered your book and wait with interest to read it. This is a good
service you provide. I emailed a woman called Marina as response to a personal
ad, things went well for a while, then suddenly, tragedy struck - her Mother had a
car accident, needed $ 200 immediately. I thought about it, decided to send $
100, after having queried which hospital Mother was in. A phone number was duly
delivered, that persuaded me that this was a genuine event, so I sent an
international money order for $ 100. Guess what, the phone number was 'inoperative' and
this week my letter, complete with check, was returned to me! So superficially this seemed like a scam, maybe she moved as a result of
another event/scam, but at least I have not lost money, just learnt a lot. It is a bit
like burglar alarms - people get one usually only after they have been burgled!

Sorry that I did not answer so long.
There is big grief there. A car hit my ma and now hi is in the hospital in the critical condition.
We with the father do not know what do. The Doctor give us a list that we
needed to buy and said that all this needed to buy immediately. Hospitals
in out country poor and there is nothing there, no even bandages and beds
linen. The Doctor has said that he helps all than can, but he can not to
buy it itself. If we does not buy all that he said in time, he said that
ma die, I not know that I then shall do, my ma the most best person in my
lifes. I in such mad condition that I seem that this dream. This can not be.
My ma can die on my eyes. We with the father already have spent all money
which we had for this. Sold and pawned all that have been able. And we
needed near 200US$ more and we do not know from where we can have it.

away from each other in different countries, but I ask you to help me. In
the bank I have known that Western Union it is fastest way to send money.

her I.D. is A1146360. She is very pretty. After about 4 letters she said that she
was feeling close to me. Then...on the 5th letter....a CRISIS. She had an
argument with her parents about me and ran away from home. She said the
parents did not want her to communicate with me. Now she was with a
friend... but only for a short time.... and without money..... and wanted my "advice."
Well... I am sure that she would have rather have had a few bucks
instead.... but I
only sent her some advice.... go back to her parents and get a job. Then I threw all
her letters in the garbage. Whoever this person is, is probably using a model's
picture to get letters and money.

published in page 27 of your site. "She" has posted for Natalya, but I found
"her" profile only after "she" answered to my ad: she signed her second
email as Natasha, justifying herself in the third email by "Natalya and
Natasha is the same names" .... The emails "she" sent to me are just the same of the page 27 of your site:

I could have been a "victim" of this "girl"- if I have not, I must thanks
that site; and "she" have sent to me eleven emails in a month, before asking me money
to pay the rent for her flat. It seemed all so sincere ... above all, after the first period, the email
seemed to be some more "personalized": in fact, "she" seemed to read my
emails - in the first emails I always asked something she never answered, so
I had understood she was answering to many people with the same email, but
in the last two or three emails I begun to believe what she did tell me (I
thought that the exaggerations of her feeling were due to the necessity of
seduction..). In fact "she" had to read something of my emails, in which I declared that,
at the moment, my financial situation is not very well (dear prudence!)...
and so she asked me only for $ 170, in a very polite way, I must say. It is
maybe the only difference with the other cases published, "her" request to
me seemed hardly expressed, almost unwillingly. I was about to send to her that money: but I am curious, and I was looking
for something to know more about her town, Yoshkar-Ola, and I found your
site on Yahoo. After having searched for almost two hours, I found her, with the exact name
and address, but different photos, and ads, and email address. So I spared my money, and I send to her one email
in which I asked "her" about it: I did it just when I found your site, but before I

"she" has been discovered, and maybe she has already changed Id on the
friendfinder, and also email.

About myself, I'm just a very highly intelligent person who knows not to trust a
complete stranger, and is smart enough not to get ripped off by some con artist.
One of life's biggest rules: Trust is earned. It is not blindly given away to strangers
that you do not know. All of you who read this should remember that well, and
whatever you do, ignore the saying, 'A stranger is a friend that you haven't met
yet.' I prefer my own saying: A stranger is an enemy you have yet to discover.
I'm sure almost all the scammers out there come to this site to find out if they
have a new posting, so I'd like to say hello Natasha... it was a pleasure beating
you at your own game.
The Events
Out of the blue I had received the first message from this girl Natasha. We
conversed back and forth for about a week, during which time she claimed that
she wanted to come here to the US and supposedly be with me. I might add that
within only the third message I received from this girl, she immediately started
claiming that she "loved me" and "couldn't live without me." I didn't believe it for a
second. My first thought was that either she was insane, or she was trying to lull
me into a false sense of security. Turned out to be the latter, but the former of
course remains to be seen.
At any rate, I did not fall for her scheme, and I did not lose one red cent to this
girl. She claimed that she was going to some travel agency to find out how much
it would cost to come here to America, then the next day was when she made
her biggest mistake: She asked me for money. The moment she did so, I
suspected it was a scam. You simply do not tell someone that you 'love them'
and 'cannot live without them' when you only started conversing three days before,
then the next day ask them for money. That's ludicrous, and you'd have to be a
complete fool to believe such nonsense. Of course, not wanting to offend her in
case I was wrong in my suspicions, I came up with a plan that in the end would
either prove she was a criminal who was only trying to steal from me, or, it would
show me that she was really a sincere individual with honest intentions. My plan
was as follows....
In a very nice way I had explained to her that I could not afford to pay her way
here, and I told her that I thought it would show me a lot more sincerity on her
part if she dealt with the financial problem herself. I then told her that I really didn't
know her that well, and since that was the case I was finding it very difficult to
place my trust in her. (I was basically setting her up for the next step.) I even
went as far as asking her if she could borrow the money to come here on, then
later, once she got a job here, she could pay it back. I then finalized this
particular message, and waited until her response the next day.
In her response, she claimed that she did not know anyone she could borrow the
money from, and that her family was poor. Again she asked for the money, and it
was then that I replied with the foundation of my plan. I told her that I had decided
to go ahead and help her to come here, BUT, I told her that I would buy the ticket
MYSELF, I would make sure that it was not transferable to anyone else, and
then I would send it to her. On the visa situation, I told her that if I were to help on
that as well, I would want the name, address and telephone number of the travel
agency, and that if I were going to send any money out, it would be directly to
them with the express instructions that it was to be used for her visa only and
nothing more. It was absolutely the right thing to do regardless of the fact that this
was a tactic I designed to find out the truth, so it made sense to implement it.
Well, since I sent that message I have not heard from her again, and
that
therefore proved my darker suspicions were true. If she had responded saying my
intentions were fine and that she agreed with what I wanted to do, then I would
have determined she was sincere in her motivations. Only then would I have
bought the ticket and helped her out.
I waited a day or two but still did not hear from her, even though in her very last
message she had claimed she would 'write me twice a day.' I then decided to do
some checking on her, when I found the Black List site and saw the pictures
some other unfortunate people who were not so untrusting had posted here. It is
clear that this is the same girl I had been dealing with.
I have also read some of the other letters here on this site that were written by
this girl to those of you she ripped off, and I found definite matches in writing
style. Amazing how sincere she sounds in her messages, isn't it? Too bad they
are all lies, specifically designed to get her grubby hands on your wallet.
In conclusion I must say that I do not understand why someone would rather
pursue the life of a criminal than try to make life better for herself by earning her
living the right way. What a pathetic, sad waste this girl is.

They have just removed Nelli's name from their list because of the fraud
report I gave to Western Union and the FBI Internet Fraud Complaint Center
(IFCC). She is listed on at least four other sites as RB points out on
your web site.
Nelli's modus operandi was similar to what to what RB and Andrew have
already reported on your web site. She said all of the things I wanted to hear
and said them in a very romantic manner. In only her second email to me she
sent the following scam letter:
Second letter:
"Thank you for such a nice letter it is such a pleasure to receive it and
to spend a few minutes in my mind with you while I am reading it. The pictures are so
nice!!!! But the only one thing worry me- that soon I will not be able to
answer to each of your letter immediately as I am doing now, but it was not
my fault. I found out that unfortunately I can not write much and send many
pictures to you, as I want because the price I pay for receiving and sending
e-mails to you depends on the length, time and k bites. I had not even guess
how expensive it could be for me when I started out communicatiopn. And
Now, I am puzzled when I finally found you, I feel that this communication is
very serious for me, and I am afraid and do not want to loose you. I do not
know, I hate saying this, and I am scared of misunderstanding but may be I
should ask you to help me to pay for e-mails I send and receive from you.
Please, do not take it wrong, I am not writing for money, I just try to be
honest with you, although I know that the truth is not so sweet sometimes like
a lie. Why on the Earth so many things depends on money? - this is only
paper, but very useful sometimes. Love is priceless, and I know it. From my
heart's deep I want to thank you for your love and it is my pleasure to send

Believing her and being blinded by love just as Andrew was, I sent her $90
through Western Union. She sent me a very romantic letter and said the
following, amongst other things, in her next email:
"Cordially thank you for your sweet, beautiful, encouraging mail! Yes, I got
the money today thank you! The gratitude in my mind urges me to respond
immideately! I am so happy to see that you appreciate my e-mails too, and
you truly have succeeded in building up a desire in me to taste and enjoy the
life together!"
There was something that gnawed on me that she was too good to be true.
She also was a little cold when I told her I sent the money and she experienced a
problem finding it at Western Union. In her last email, she told me "Because
I will be very busy next coming week and my computer has to be repaired with
big regret I have to say that I will not be able to write to you for a
while." That's when I looked up the scam list at http://www.womenrussia.com/blacklist.htm. Sure enough she was on it and
doing the same thing to me she had done to RB and Andrew.
Thank goodness for your web site!!! Although I am out $90, I could have
been out a lot more! For those of you who read this beware!

Hi. Great site. First off, this is a serious scam, not necessarily because it is any
different from the other Russian, Ukraine, etc scammers but because this
woman used the events of Sept. 11 -- The attack on the World Trade Center
and terrorism as a ploy to get money. This angers and shocks me, so I had to
immediately pass this on.
I'm a 31 writer/photographer from NY/Florida. Had this
correspondence from a woman named "Olga Boiko". She said that she preferred the name
"Olya" but that Olga was listed on her passport. She contacted me in response
to a Love@aol profile I had posted, most likely from the internet version of
the site. I never sent her any money and only received 5 emails from her,
perhaps more will come. She only responded by using my name in the second
note, then it jumped to "Dearest Prince" and things like "greatest love". The
thing I am most incensed at, however, is her use of the horrific terrorist attacks
on New York and Washington as a plea for us to be together and for me to
send her $3000 for a special flight in this moment of crisis. Horrible, mean,

saying thank you for your support but since you almost burned me then didn't
reply to me at all once I pointed out the black list condition, that I didn't want to
hear from "her" again. I received the second letter today (9/13/01). The local
Better Business Office has warned the People of the US about scammer's
claiming realistic names of "aid agencies" So my suspicions are up. I again told her I don't want to hear from her and that I can see where the
string of letters was building to. No pictures have been sent at this time.

Agency website. Her email went from friendly to romantic to erotic in only 6 or 7
messages. Rather suspicious! Raisa was not very reliable about responding to
my questions or to comments that I made. I dismissed this as problems in
translation or with my email being lost. She discouraged me from sending
anything by post because it could be stolen or our private correspondence could
be read. She warned me not to visit her in Russia but the exact nature of the
danger was not clear. She wanted to see me as soon as possible, within a few
weeks I suppose, but she wanted to come to the United States. So, you guessed
it, she asked me to send money via Western Union. She asked again a week
later. Oh, and she had previously mentioned that she was deleting my messages
so nobody else at the internet cafe could read them. When I did not send money
she went back to being very romantic and writing that she would love me forever.
She then asked for money for her tourist visa, using a copy of an earlier message.
I challenged here repeated request for the visa money and said that I had heard of
Russian women running such a scam. I told here that if she continued to ask for
the visa money that I would stop replying to her email. She was emailing me
almost everyday, but has stopped contacting me. She never gave a complete
street address but it was something like 5 Leninsky, Str. Krasnodar, Russia. Watch out for this girl!
