Petition Against The American Bill On International Marriage Brokers,
Distributed in St. Petersburg, Russia

To Whom it May Concern,

I am a Russian woman, over the age of 18 and a member of at least one International Marriage Agency. I understand that the United States is considering additional regulations concerning the International matchmaking Industry.

I would like to state, as an actual user of such services, that I agree it is a good idea to inform women of their rights regarding spousal abuse, as well as the fiancee visa process once they have joined an International Matchmaking service.

I do not agree that it should be mandatory for me to sign an authorization form for each and very man who wishes to obtain my contact information via the agency. I gave my contact information to the agency in order to communicate with many different men, most of which I will not be interested in and will not pursue any type of relationship with. I believe it will be a waste of my time and the agencies time, as well as make the entire process very difficult for all concerned. I believe that if the process is made to be more difficult I will not have as much of an opportunity to meet the men that I am interested in since they may not use the service.

I am an adult and capable of deciding for myself as to whom I would like to spend my life with. I am aware that I can obtain information about my rights from the agency I have joined.
